Meta adds audio links and reference Reels to Edits | Social Media Today

Meta has added new features to its Edits video creation app, including audio links and reference Reels to help creators discover trends and find inspiration. Users can access trending audio directly and save or reference Reels while developing their own videos. These updates aim to simplify the creative process, help creators follow emerging trends, and improve short-form video production.

The update also introduces trending-topic insights for creators with more than 10,000 followers, custom Kits for saving visual styles, and additional video effects. Instagram is adding a “Use as reference” option on iOS to help creators record response Reels alongside an original clip, while planning to remove the Reels linking feature on October 28.
